Placer Union High School: Spaid and Lake Lead Separate Trustee Areas 3 and 4

AUBURN, Placer County — November 4, 2026, 12:16 a.m. Pacific. Placer Union High School District reports different early leaders in Trustee Areas 3 and 4, both separate from its exceptionally close Area 2 race.

Official semi-official election-night results

Area 3: Jessica Spaid 2,646 (55.44%) versus Tricia Caspers 2,098 (43.96%). Area 4: Emerson Lake 2,948 (53.65%) versus David Lawrenson 2,529 (46.02%).

What the local contest means

These results are from two different geographic trustee areas, not a single districtwide election. Spaid leads by 548 votes and Lake by 419 in their respective reported counts. The names and votes remain provisional pending certification.

Why the results are not final

Placer County Elections lists this as its election-night semi-official report, data refreshed November 4 at 12:16 a.m. Pacific. The report states all assigned election-night precincts have reported in these races. However, further eligible mailed, provisional or otherwise verified ballots may be processed in the official canvass. The counts and rankings are not certified, and no November 5 post-election tally is claimed here.
