CALIFORNIA — October 27, 2026. Placer County’s 2025 agricultural crop and livestock report put gross output value at approximately $122 million, a record and 9.9% above 2024, according to an official October 8, 2026 announcement.
Program details and local relevance
Cattle led the reported categories with $34,516,728 in gross value, followed by rice at $17,472,844 and almonds at $15,799,602; poultry production was reported at $12,282,021 and walnuts at $9,684,360. Placer’s apiary and bee products reached roughly $1.3 million, up 64.3% from the prior year. The county linked higher cattle returns in part to national herd and beef-price trends and cited increased planted rice acreage.
Eligibility and cautions
Gross production value is not farmer profit, local farm payroll or county tax receipts. Farm-level operating costs, drought exposure and other expenses are not deducted from these totals. The figures cover 2025 production; this is an October 27 explainer of an October 8 official release, not a claim that 2026 harvest results are already final.
