AUBURN, PLACER COUNTY — NOVEMBER 5, 2026. Auburn appears set to continue with an all-women City Council after its November 3 election. Incumbents Kelley Davis and Bridget Powers, along with challenger Stephanie McKenzie, have publicly claimed victory in the contest for three seats, while fourth candidate Erik Robb conceded, according to Abridged by PBS KVIE’s November 5 reporting. The county count is not yet formally certified.

What the reported figures show

The published early count listed Davis with 29.76% of candidate votes, Powers with 28.76%, McKenzie with 28.52%, and Robb with 12.42%. This is a vote-for-three election; percentages refer to votes for candidates, not the percentage of voters who selected one person.

How the council reached this point

Auburn became the first city in Placer County reported to have an all-women City Council after Powers was appointed in August to succeed the late Mike Holmes. The November voting could preserve that composition into the next term. A ceremonial swearing-in is expected in December, subject to the city’s official process.

What each candidate has discussed

Davis has emphasized long-term financial stability and community amenities. Powers has spoken about budgeting and a sustainable fiscal plan. McKenzie, a former Marysville councilmember and retired teacher, has pointed to the city’s historic character, community involvement and services for residents. These are their stated goals, not an endorsement or a guarantee of action.

When the outcome becomes official

Placer County will continue its election canvass before certification. California58’s earlier article reported preliminary ordering; this follow-up adds candidate statements and the concession.
